pinion seal leak at 68k?

Default pinion seal leak at 68k?

so the other day i had a flat, and when puttin the spare on, i noticed my pinion seal is leaking. my 02 ranger i had was doing the same thing and the pinion bearing was the culprit. anyone else had this problem?

mine is .. its only got 105 000km on it

Mine "was" and I have 69k but I have extended warranty and Ford just fixed it last week for me.

hmm im not sure if mine has the extended warranty or not.

Funny you mention that. I had my truck inspected at the local Ford dealer and the only thing they found for me to fix before they'll sell me the ESP is rear pinion seal leak...

mine is too. anyone done this job is it hard to do? time consuming? anyhelp please haha

my mechanic buddy(ford diesal tech) said you have to replace the pinion flange when doing the seal and properly torque the pinion gear.
