p0358 and p0308
Hey all. I am sure you are tired of P0358 and P0308 and running rough topics but I have read through a few postings and I think I need to dig further. As I said, P0308 and P0358. New ford plugs, tried moving COP both with no affect. I have battery voltage and ground signal from PCM tested with a noid light. Used spark test and have spark from COP. Even used a spark glug ground to watch for spark and was good. Even tried a new after market COP with no change at all. According to shop key, this code causes the shut down of the injector to protect the cat, so not much reason to go there. Is there any other thoughts? I did find a TSB about reprogram ECM. Anybody hear of this working? The only other thing I am thinking of doing is voltage drop on the control circuit.

I hope you have new boots on these plugs . clean carbon out of spark hole with carb cleaner . carbon may be breaking new plugs .

The new style boot is for the update heads. I believe they have a slight bend in them. They are brown in color and will only work with updated heads. There is no new updated boot for the old style heads. The issue with all boots in general is the rubber breaks down and lets in moisture, and dirt which then interferes with the current running down to the plug. Many misfire problems can be solved by putting on new boots and springs properly.
