WVXC450R

Hey guys I know this isn't really truck related but for some time now I've really been wanting to learn how to weld. I know the basics but I really need to practice. I don't have time to go take a class or I would. I'm kind of limited on my welder. I'm using a wire fed craftsman welder. It doesn't have a gas hook up. Also all it has Is a high and low amp setting but about 10 different speed settings. What is a good cheap DIY project I could do for my truck? What would be the best metal to use and size?

I've got my project ideas narrowed down to either:
Rocksliders/steps
Bull Bar
Light bar that mounts about the same way a bull bar does
Or maybe a dolly for the garage..

I really want to build an off road bumper for my truck one day but that's far off.. I'm thinking either the light bar or bull bar would be best. I do have a pipe bender as well. I'm thinking of sticking with square tubing just to make it a little easier on me.

What do you guys think? Any other projects for my truck that would be a nice beginner project? Or something for the garage I could build as a project?
