Phone button on 08 screw

Default Phone button on 08 screw

so i just got my 08 screw yesterday and i have the nav HU and when i click the "PHONE" button nothing happens.

i searched around and some people said it muted their radio and some said it said "NO PHONE"


well i was expecting to be like sync or something where i could connect my phone to the HU


can this be done or what

Yeah you have to have a bluetooth phone for it to work.....I think

i have a bluetooth phone.

and yes i have looked but it doesnt even say anything about it

I looked all over for what this button was and how to set up my phone with the stereo.
finally, in the owners manual I found this:
Phone button: when pressed, display will read "No Phone".

Well, that was a lot of help. Pretty useless button.
That was enought to push me into replacing the stock system with a Kenwood DNX8120. It's built in bluetooth connects with my phone fine.

You have to buy the phone adapter kit . It is in the Ford Accessory Catalog. I think it is around $350.00 .

are you serious? thats rediculous. would be cheaper to just buy an aftermarket radio thats ready to go

i thought that if you go into your phone settings and turn the bluetooth on look for devices it will work?????

thats what i looked for but phone settings is not under "settings"

I think the radio has to "recognize" your phone. Like when my friend sends me ringtones his phone has to find my phone and then it will send it if you know what I mean. I think it's the same as radios with nav or at least that's how mine is.
