Default I've had enough!

All right guys,
I had a thread earlier about my 4x4 not engaging on my 06 scab.Earlier this winter it would engage after the slightest bit of ratcheting noise on the driver side. Later it would engage the kick out when I built up any speed. Now it won't engage at all. I checked the vacuum solenoid on the fire wall and when I shook it water came out, it was the factory one without the rain shield. I got a new one with the rain hood (24 bucks), no big deal. Checked the vacuum at the hubs and it was pulling. I then started the truck and left it in two wheel drive, in park of course and checked to see if I could spin the front axles by hand and they spun free like they're supposed to. I put it in four wheel drive and checked to see if they spun,AND THEY DID. I had read on another thread that one culprit could be the motor on the trans case. I went back and tapped on it,with it still in four wheel drive and checked the front axles again and they WOULDN'T spin by hand. I thought they locked in, so I backed out of the garage, took it out on the ICE COVERED road and goosed it to try to hopefully spin the fronts a little and the backs ONLY spun. I guess the motor could be going out on the trans case,it acts like they are not engaging all the way? Any ideas or if you guys think it could be the engagement motor any idea where I could get one except directly from Ford, They're 267 bucks from them

Sounds like the hubs are not locking in. I personally, would look into installing manual locking hubs. Then you know they are locked in. Just my .02

I had to do this with my old Nissan truck when its auto lock hubs went out and left me stuck in 4wd 100 miles from home on a hunting trip I swapped to manual locking hubs and never had another problem...
Its worth swapping to manual locking hubs for the peace of mind.
