I've been debating on putting a performance chip on my 2006 5.4 XLT. I've heard they can be harmful, and I've also heard they are fine. Just wondering what your opinions were and experiences if any. What kind of extra horsepower, MPG, etc. And also if they can be bad for the transmission and engine? Also any brand recommendations? Thanks for any help.

I got a superchips tuner and you can feel the HP without a doubt.. if you buy one make sure you buy it off the www.superchips.com website, I bought it from a online store and they charged me an extra 100 bucks for the same product..

Forget the canned tuners (Edge, SuperChips, Diablo) and get a tuner that can be custom tuned (Gryphon, SCT).

SCT or bust. I've been tuning modular mustangs for a long time, and the SCT outperforms any other tuner on the market.
