Peoples' subs way under-aired? Am I missing something?
Seems like a lot of people on this forum are putting 2 10" kickers in their trucks.
A common 2-sub box under the scab back seat has ~1.1 cu.ft of air in it, and a 10" CompVT Kicker needs .8, so.... I guess i'm missing something.
a 1-sub box only has .7 cu.ft, so I thought I could fit a 10" CVT with some polyfil, and hope for the best, but people seem to be getting great results with boxes that are smaller than they should be.
Am I missing something? Does the kicker site say .8, but it really only needs 5.5? is polyfil magic? Are these people actually not getting the best SQ possible?
I'm almost thinking of doing a full box (normally for 2 subs) just for one 12" CompVT...
I dono, the numbers just aren't adding up.

Poly fill slows down the sound waves and makes the sub think the box is bigger. You do lose a little sound quality but IMO not enough to really know a difference. On a Box .5cu ft big and stuff it about full it will act as .8 cut ft box. Adds about. .3 cu ft to a small box.
