Default People with 17" Raptor Wheels, I Need Tire Input

Like the title states I picked up a set of the gray 17" Raptor wheels and I'm looking for advice on tire sizes. Preferably I'd like to stick with the BFG AT KO2s. Always had BFGs on my truck and especially like the new design. I have an '08 FX4 with Autospring 2" leveling kit and the factory plastic fender flares which are going to stay (pic of my truck is below). I currently have 275-65-20s and the height I like (34"). I'm looking for a tire that is flush or sticks out just a little beyond the factory flares. I know the wheel itself if I've researched correctly will sit about a 1/2" further out on its own. I see BFG has 285, 305, and the 315 in the 17s. I'm not sure if the 285 will get me flush or past the flares, I think the 305 would be just right, however the height on both of those would have me sitting around 3/4" lower which maybe wouldn't be as noticeable as I think it would. From pics I've seen the 315s almost look oversized for a non-Raptor or maybe it just seems that way since there is a lot more sidewall than I'm used to with the 20" wheels. Just don't want them to be too wide either and stick out far past the flares. 295-70-17 seems like it could be just right but all I see is Cooper options and the Terra Grappler which don't look as aggressive as the BFG. Need to stick with All-Terrains as I do a lot of highway driving and mud-terrains would drive me crazy. Anyways if anybody has pics or recommendations it would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have same wheel and got the 315s. I think they look great. Don't stick out too much, just enough. Got a good deal on the ko2s from 4wheel parts

That might grow on me. Some trucks they seem almost too big for the wheel well but that pic doesn't make it look that way. Looks like you have mud flaps, I do as well, any trimming you had to do or rubbing on anything? Any pics straight on from the front or back? Trying to see how far they stick out. Thanks for the response.

No rubbing at all.

That helps a lot, I think you sold me. The more I look at them on trucks the more I like it. I really do just think it was the 20" wheels I've seen it with the past 5 years throwing me off. Thanks again for the pics!

No problem. I'm very happy with the setup. Although I do love the fx4 wheels on your truck

Thanks for the compliments. I like the 20" wheels I have and the only reason I'm getting rid of them is I found a set of used Raptors really cheap and it gives some more tire size options. Hopefully the Raptor gray wheels match the bottom of my truck fairly well. The 2014s are just a little bit lighter of a gray.

Default After pic

Ended up going with the 315-70-17's and I'm glad I did. Going from 20's to 17's is going to take some getting used to but I'm pretty happy how it turned out. May have very minor trimming on the inside of the mudlaps and that plastic lip on the underside of the bumper but that's it.
