Larger tires for F150 4X4
I am ready for new tires on a 2008 F150 SuperCrew XLT with a 5.5' bed. I have 265/65/18 from the factory.
I would like to put a larger tire on without lifting the truck. I want to stay with the factory wheels if possible. Also concerned if the speedo can be adjusted to compensate for the tire size change.
Does anyone have any accurate information?
Tire Rack has been of no help. Only quote stock tires and listed alternates from the factory.

1. There's a sticky/thread for this info near the top of the list on this forum.
2. Do you know what size tires you want, or are you just wanting the largest that will work/fit on your stock rims?
3. Are you the BN S-3?

I would not go any larger than a 285/65R18 without a lift. As far as the speedo, the dealer can adjust your trucks computer to a certain point. Or you could purchase a tuner, they average $400. From what I have read everyone seems to prefer the Edge Evoluation. I have the Bully Dog GT, I like it.

That is if you will find a company to mount and balence them for you.It is against allot of company rules and insurence regs to put 35's on a stock rim cause the width is to narrow.
I went thru 7 places just to find a place that would mount and balance my 35's on my stock rims. Here is a pic of my 35's on stock rims with a front leveling kit.A side angle also.A front leveling kit with 35's gives it a clean agressive look.
Now as for your speedo.Any tires over 33's,a dealership cannot adjust for what i was told.So i got myself a tuner and took care of that myself as well as keeping an eye on other engine components and adding power for the extra weight going with heavier tires.A programer is in the top 5 must need things for your truck. It will be pay for itself. Also you can find the Edge Evo tuners on E-bay for 250-300.If you have any questions, let me know
