The air bag light above the stereo seems to turn on and off as it pleases.

I rarely drive with anything or anybody in the front seat. The "passenger air bag off" light comes on when I start the truck, but usually turns off.
Last night it stayed on the whole drive home form work.
I assume like any other car I've owned that the light is supposed to stay on if the seat doesn't sense weight.
Any thoughts on why this would be occurring?

The only difference last night was i had my backpack in the front seat

the light comes on when you start the truck as a self check for the system...but yes any weight under 80lbs? will cause the light to turn on

Yeah mine comes on and beeps when my dog sits in the front seat.

Yea if the weight in the seat is a childs weight, I think 80 and below. It will stay lit up saying airbag is off. Nothing to worry about
