Part # for Rear Bumper Vinyl Protector
My 08 Limited was rear-ended, and bumper was replaced. On my original factory PTM bumper, the leading edges that wrap around the rear quarter panel were protected from rock/debris by a thin clear vinyl strip. The repair shop didn't replace them, but will if I can give them a part #. I looked on fordparts but couldn't find them. Can I get an assist from someone with better search skills? Thanks

He's talking about the clear piece of vinyl that was placed on the front facing corners of the rear bumper. It protects the painted bumpers (STX models; maybe others) from stone chips or other junk the rear tires could throw back on the forward part of the rear bumper.
Those who do not have painted bumpers would not have this clear vinyl piece.
When looking for it from TASCO (for example), are you searching by model type? If not, try selecting STX.

Checked Tasca and Ford Parts under the Limited and STX. The vinyl isn't listed or shown in the IPB. Guess I'll look into having the repair shop's decal/stripe guy make them. Local Ford dealer told me that they must have been put on by a previous owner, because they aren't OEM. Convenient excuse for a part they can't find.

How about some of this? A little pricey but you may find it cheaper somewhere else.
