Well I ended up taking the truck into the dealership to get their diagnosis for $59. They called me today and indicated that there is good oil pressure and they indicated it wasn't the phasers. They are thinking it is either the cam followers or the lifters. They wont know for sure unless they open the valve cover and look inside. I asked if it were an exhaust leak and it didn't even seem they checked that but said it wasn't that type of a sound. Not sure how I feel about that. I think I am going to take it from the dealership and go to a local repair shop that one of my buddies suggested. They will be quite a bit cheaper.

My truck sounded the exact same as yours did. I took off the timing cover and found the timing chain guide was broken. See pic below. The chain was slapping the cover and put quite a few little scratches on it. Once I replaced all timing components the noise was gone except it came back once the truck warmed up only not as bad. I put 10W-30 in it and the noise is now gone I guess. This weekend I'm changing the oil pump and going through this bullshot all again.

Thanks for the advice on getting the pump out Especial. I'll order the Motorcraft VCT solenoids. Where do you think that screen went from the drivers side VCT?

I just changed both of my VCT's and yes I did have an older version and it runs much better. However, I am getting a crazy ticking noise still

Take a look and listen

Glad to see the new VCT's worked out for you!

Sounds like the passenger side exhaust manifold could be leaking.. Try posting a video with the engine at full operating temp.. If the leak is not profuse, it should quiet down some.. Any black sooty spots on the manifold will indicate a leak..
If it doesn't get any quieter, try running some 5w-30 oil to see if the noise lessens. If it does, then its likely a worn phaser on the passenger side, or maybe just time for a full timing rebuild.

I have the same tick. Mine is worse on cold start, but is still there after warm and more prevelant in the exhaust.

That was taken at full temp.

You got something wrong there. That's too loud. Sounds like it is dropping idle down to 600. Did you replace all timing components?

Update- so the mechanic I took it to said he listened to the engine with his stethoscope for a day and a half and couldn't pinpoint the sound. Rather than open it up and start looking and replace parts he suggested we put some sea foam in the crank case and drive for a couple days. He was thinking something was stuck our gummed up. I drove it for a day and all was the same. Ended up filling up with 91 octane from chevron and putting in fuel system cleaner. Drove it for a day and no change. Then the next morning I started it, the sound was gone. I'm not sure if it was the crankcase or the fuel cleaner but it is back to normal and had been for a couple weeks now. I received the new vcts today and still plan on changing them but was pleasantly surprised it was fixed. Hope you can get yours figured out.

I'll give it a shot. I replaced my other VCT last Friday and snapped a damn valve cover bolt but I didn't have to remove the valve cover completely on the passenger side to do it.
I'll give the SeaFoam, 91 octane and fuel cleaner a shot. I ran half a can of seafoam through the brake booster but that didn't do anything.

Mine took a couple days to clean everything. It was probably 150 miles worth of driving. Hope it ends up working for you. I ended up ordering the vcts and new seals for my 06 and as I go to replace them, I realized the seal is way too big. Apparently my truck valve covers were replaced with the new valve covers from the 07 model and you can't replace the vcts unless you take off the entire valve covers. Needless to say, I sent the vcts back and I'll just replace them if I ever have the valve covers off for any reason.
