Heritage vs non-heritage 4.6l engine
I've reached that pint that I may just swap out the engine. I'm finding reasonable priced engines and tranny bolt pattern is right as well as VIN letter (8th). So far they still state for Heritage model. Is there a difference between 4.6l's?
I have a 2004 F150 non-heritage (new style). I think I'm missing something or just not reading something correctly...

You’re reading correctly.
The blocks are the same, but the 11th Gens use electronic throttle for one big difference. I’m sure there are other relatively minor sensor placement differences.
That being said, sit both engines side by side and you should be golden if you swap enough items over. Depends on how much effort any theoretical cost savings is theoretically worth.

I've chased a few reman engines now and getting tired of the the low listed $$ and learning the actual pricing. You folks have places you'd recommend to buy from? I can get a local 'used' engine (reputable business) with ~120K for $2500, but I see some internet pricing for reman's in this range..
I'm in NH, but willing to drive for a well priced reman!
