Search functions will never please the masses; they get used usually by new owners of a truck by members on this site or by web explorer tools by owners that are looking for a site that can offer good help. If a topic thread is found by a member on this site using the search, they can be revived by a post made to it looking for additional information. A good thing, as it can help prevent the creation of repetitive subject threads.
As pointed out by Summers22, if it causes your email alerts to pop up due to being subscribed to the old thread and you are not interested in getting alerts on it again, turn them off if enabled; a good solution.
If it comes from an internet web explorer tool, it helps with new membership to this site; they find this site has good information from knowledgeable members such as yourself. Again, a good thing.
We have to remember that these trucks we own are now falling into the hands of first time truck owners that have little or no knowledge of them. They use an internet search tool when a problem arises, find this site, and hopefully join and become active members. Its what keeps a site heathy, popular, and active.
