Default P0340 Code. Replaced sensor, same problem

04' 5.4L with 59k miles

I have a plaguing problem. Im getting a p0340 code which is the bank 1(passenger side??) CPT sensor. I've replaced it and still I have a rough idling issue and sometimes it will stall while at a light?

Am I over looking something? It's the only code that comes up and the VCT's have been replaced as well as a new throttle body and TPS.

Is there a way to check the CPT with a DVOM to confirm it is well? If it is what should I check next?

Please help!

Thank you very much

Would love to jump in and help, the 5.4 is not in my tool box, I'll shake some trees and see what falls, hang in there.

bank 1 is drivers side? I thought passenger side maybe that's my problem.

Bank 1 is the passenger side, Ford thinks of everything related to the drivers seat in the truck. Cylinders 1-4 is passenger side, 5-8 is drivers side. Whe Ford chose the passenger side as being cyl 1-4, only the Ford Gods know.

Thank you. That's what I thought. The cylinder head that protrudes furthest is always bank 1.

Any idea on how to test the sensor?

I have the same problem with my 04 screw,98000 miles. I replaced Cam Poistion Sensors, VCT selonoids and cam phasers and plugs. Also had 2 ford dealers diagnose it to no avail. I have been running the truck for the past 6 months in limp mode with both cam position sensors unplugged. At first start I get a little miss while the computer adjusts to tun off of the Crank Position sensor, then it runs fine. I think the Banl One Cam phser is starved for oil and the VCT system is off time while plugged in. I am running some Oil treatment through it hoping the head will ungunk itself. Truck is running just fine in limp mode, just hate to see that dame CEL on. Keep me posted. The Oil pressure is fine as well, just no way to monitor it at the front of Bank one.
