You are smelling the O3 gas.
Wait a week and see what happens.
And get a pro to steam clean the carpet (hot water extraction method)

I will have to wait though for a couple days before I can say for sure if it killed or neutralized the smell as it has always came back. But this morning it was still good. Next week I am going to take it for a 1 or 2 hour 100% ozone treatment if the smell returns.

Can anyone that has used an ozone generator before tell me if it has a smell to it afterwards? Because the purifier I used does have an after smell. It's been out for 2 days and I can still smell a "before rain" scent.

Any machine that has NO warning about people/pets/plants is NOT going to do the job.

Thanks, I agree with you about waiting a week. I don't drive my truck everyday as I have a company truck when I'm working. So it doesn't get to air out everyday on a commute. And the machine I used does not have a warning label on it as I looked for one. So it prob does not produce much if any O3

I'm the same way. Only drive my truck once or twice a week. I have had it for 10 months. Steamed cleaned the carpet twice, cleaned leather 4x and ozoned it only once and I can still smell the dog. Nobody else can smell the dog so it might be what we call in our business http://www.cleanfax.com/articles/psychological-odors

LMAO!!

I think I'm DEFINATELY like Pavlov's dog! Every time I walk out to my truck I can smell whatever I think my truck is going to smell like before I open the door. My wife thinks I'm obsessed with the smell. I told her if I still smell it in a couple months I'm going to trade it in. She said she would take it cause she can't smell anything offensive in it and I could trade in her Yukon on a new F150. But I don't want a diff truck, I like mine!

I would say clean it, ozone it, clean the leather, the glass and everything including the headliner...hang your favorite air freshener and be done with it.

I'm pretty much over the "dog smell" in my truck because nobody but me can smell it

Sounds like a vacation opportunity! I've always wanted to go there to ride 4 wheelers and see the country

I just wanted to update this thread. I used a can of stuff called "Auto Scents". It works by some kind of chemical reaction by mixing a liquid with a solid and closing the space. I left it in there for 4 hours and it totally killed all smells. It smelled like a highly chlorinated swimming pool at first. I let it air out with doors open and a box fan blowing in it for an hour. Then went driving for 30 minutes. I can still smell a hint of the chlorine smell after its been shut up but that will eventually go away. I recommend this product only if it is a last resort because it is potent but it works. Thanks to everyone who had input on this!
