Default Royal purple or motorcraft?

I'm due for an oil change, I have heard to use royal purple 5-w20 full synthetic to get the 5.4 to be as quit as it can. I usually use motor craft oil filter and oil. What would you use?

Do you want to change your oil every 5K or 7K ?? and whatever oil you decide to go with...I would recommend a Motorcraft filter.

Should I do 5-w20 or 5-w30?

If love to get that engine tick a little quieter.

There is a post with 11+ pages based on opinions/etc. I just switched over to 5w-30 Mobil 1 Synthetic. My motor seems to be quieter.

I have Royal Purple 10W-30 in Thunder and the engine makes no noises and runs great! I'm going to keep using that for my oil. Also, gonna try the K&N oil filter as well...

I've been using Royal Purple 5w-20 with a K&N oil filter since the first oil change at 3,000 miles and every 5,000 since. I've been considering on switching to 10w-30 now that I'm at 120, 000.

I have a 07 F150 with the 5.4 and 126K and a 07 Expedition with the 5.4 and 117k. Neither one make any sort ot tick/rattle/noise at all and both read way past 1/2, if not at 3/4 on the oil pressure gauge. Both are using Motorcraft FL820-S filters. I really see no reason to change at all. I may get an itch and use Motorcraft 5W30 once to see what the oil pressure gauge does.

I use royal purple 5w-30 with a royal purple filter or a motorcraft one. I have a 173000 and no problems.
