Default Opinions welcome please!

Hey all, I'm smack dab in the middle of doing this mod....blackening out my FX instrument bezel and painting the little rings around the 4 small gauges, along with re-painting the tach and speedo gauge rings to match. I was gunna paint them silver like in the pics, but I had a thought of PTM them to the exterior color of my truck, the Dark Blue Pearl. It's a dark blue so I think it would look good against the black background, plus I think it would really accent the blue gauge lighting that I'm in the process of changing over from that hideous green. I think it'll be a subtle look and not too overpowering, but I'd really like to hear your thoughts. I've been looking at the US Speedo website lately and they have a new, blue anodized gauge face that looks pretty sweet, that's where I got the idea from for the blue rings. Let me know what you think....here's a couple pics of the blacked out bezel with the silver gauge rings.

Thanks for the opinions....please keep 'em coming. I love this site, all except for the $$$ I've blown on mods since I've been here, LOL!

I agree that the silver looks great as is. But in the name of modifying, please, paint those haha. There's nothing better than cheap mods that go a long way. I like the PTM idea. Is there a way to make the red part of the gauges white?

I think if you paint it dark blue it will get lost against the black background. I would keep it silver, if you do blue lights they will look better lighting up silver rings then dark blue. Just my opinion.

I think the dark blue pearl would probably blend in too much with the black background as well. The silver rings with the blue lights will look real good when your done.
