It will be returned to the dealership who will take it to ford. Apparently there is bad blood between the dealership and my mechanic so I was told they absolutely help resolve the issue BUT they will not do business with him. Personal vendetta from the top dog maybe? This is fine by me. They are going to send it to ford. I talked to the service manager at ford and explained the situation so I knew he had the best information possible. He said he will speak to the tech about the cam scouring because he wasn't sure what the best action for that is. All this equates to if the motor is to far gone they will most likely take the truck back and I will start fresh. If it is something that is repairable and not as catastrophic as I think then they will cover the repair. As unfortunate as this has been I am impressed with the dealership. This has been met with little resistance to this point. They're only gripe has been "Why didn't you come to us first?" which I think is warranted and I really have no good answer for other than not trusting a dealerships service department to properly fix the issue.
I am glad they are going to take care of you on this, smart move going to talk the bank.

Still no resolve to this. Ford told them that cam chasers and a complete new timing set MAY fix the issue but it's not a grantee and it's going to cost $2500.

My options are: they pay ford to fix it and I cross my fingers or they make me a "deal" on a different vehicle.

So far the only vehicles they have I'm interested in are going to max out my budget and are all 2wd. An 2008 Tacoma 4door is on top of that list but is also the most expensive. The others are all GM trucks which I've never really been a fan of. Nice trucks just not really to my taste.

They also said if I go to a different vehicle that I can take all the stuff I replaced off the f150 so I will most likely have some headlights, mirrors and 33" bfg at's available really soon.
