Well things have taken an interesting turn. I decided speak with my credit union about the issue and see if there is any assistance from them since I haven't even received my payment book yet. The VP made some calls to some high up personal and business contacts at the dealership and things have changed. The truck is being put back together as we speak. It will be returned to the dealership who will take it to ford. Apparently there is bad blood between the dealership and my mechanic so I was told they absolutely help resolve the issue BUT they will not do business with him. Personal vendetta from the top dog maybe? This is fine by me. They are going to send it to ford. I talked to the service manager at ford and explained the situation so I knew he had the best information possible. He said he will speak to the tech about the cam scouring because he wasn't sure what the best action for that is. All this equates to if the motor is to far gone they will most likely take the truck back and I will start fresh. If it is something that is repairable and not as catastrophic as I think then they will cover the repair. As unfortunate as this has been I am impressed with the dealership. This has been met with little resistance to this point. They're only gripe has been "Why didn't you come to us first?" which I think is warranted and I really have no good answer for other than not trusting a dealerships service department to properly fix the issue.
