Most vendores that sell the LED third brake light conversions are well aware of the cruise control issues they used to cause. If you search this site and read the posts dating back to the 2005-2006 era (yes, I'm old), you'll see that many folks bought them, and returned them because they did not have the load residter circuit in them.
You can thank the early purchasers of these assemblies for identifying this and getting them corrected.

Uh okay I guess. But that doesnt explain why a cheap China ebay led worked just fine in my third brake light causing no issues.
I will start sending out my thank you letters asap.

Not at all! Just a heads up to anyone just in case they buy one and finds out their cruise does not work. There are still some cheap ones out there without the required load resister circuit.
