Opinion wanted on look of these rims
Updated post:
Hello Forum, I felt like something needed to be updated to the look of the rims still. I took off the center caps, taped over the fake lug nuts and center ford emblem, sanded, painted and clear coated them. Let me know what you think of the update.
thx
Previous post:
I spent over five hours prepping, sanding, painting and clearcoating my stock 20" rims and wanted some opinions on how they looked. Considering painting the polished aluminum spokes flat black to offset the gloss black and give it some more depth (similar to prep look below...kind of like it how it is now though too with it being black and polished aluminum? hmmmm. Will definately be getting some bigger/better tires soon.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks.

Thanks everyone, I didn't need to prime it, just used the new dupli-color wheel/rim paint and wheel/rim clear coat. Spent most of my time in prep, lightly sanding with the dark red automotive scouring pad (made for sanding and cut down to easy to use sections). Think I may have sanded the tips of fingers away getting into all the corners but from your responses it was worth it. The trick it seems is the two light coats of black first then a medium "wet" coat then two light coats of clear coat (for a gloss look) not necessarily for protection.
Also, before and after sanding I used dupli-color's prep spray that will remove grease/wax, etc so that the paint sticks and cleans up debris.
So is the concensus to leave as is or blacken in the spokes?

Yeah, I could have but didn't want the chance of contaminating the paint on the rims yet as they haven't fully cured/dried...will be washing the truck soon and will post tires with shine applied. :-)
