Default Ok, im confused.

Ok, i have a 2wd leveled and i am look at new rims. I want to get black XD Monsters, and this whole backspacing offset thing is getting me confused. I want to get 33s, and they off 4.5" backspacing, and 5.71" but according to the fitment guide 5.71" is too much with 33s, so to get to the point. Im getting 18x9 but im not sure which backspacing and offset to get. i want the wheels to stick out about an inch or two more than the stock wheels so what demensions do i need?

the math is simple, the explanation is a little more difficult. google wheel measurements. with a diagram in hand or sight, I'll bet you can figure it out.

I found this. https://www.rsracing.com/tech-wheel.html

ive got it now, but now my problem is i want 5.71" backspacing but the fitment guide says 5.5 is max. Im thinkin if i get 5.71 and i get tires a little smaller than 33s itll be ok if i trim a little

I am not sure but perhaps there is a wheel spacer that would suit your needs. maybe less backspace and a wheel spacer would put you where you want to be.

EDIT:
Oh so you are trying to go outside of the guidlines and need to know what will work. that's a crap shoot if you ask me. Best of luck.

If you want the tires to stick out you need the 4.5 backspacing, stock is 5.5 the greater the backspacing the more tucked under they are. 5.71 even with the wider tim will not stick them out much at all.

Get 33's and the 4.5 and youll be good to go.

Well, i looked at pics and it looked like 4.5 stuck out a little too far. maybe not on a 4wd but a 2wd probably. im wondering if 5.71 will fit with a little smaller than 33 tire, trimed up bumper, and maybe a spacer if needed?

Yes 33s will fit with a level 2wd

So anybody have pics of the 4.5's versus the 5.71's on any XD wheels? I'm interested in this too. I have an 08 FX4 with 305-65-18's (33.7") and Pro Comp 3" leveling kit on the front. I'm wondering which backspace to go with. Thanks.

You're looking at the same wheels that I am looking at getting. Except i want mine in 20X9. Do not go with the -12 offset with 4.5 BS b/c what this will do is have your tire/wheel stick out past the FENDER LIP 1.5-2 inches. Unless thats what look your trying to go for. The +18 offset (5.71BS) will be further out then the stock wheel, but comes end up just a little shy of the fender lip, so when you get tires and get like a 305 or 295 the tire wil be right at the fender lip. If you actually look where the stock wheel is in relation to the fender lip its about 2 inches inset. So the +18 wheels that are 9 inches wide will be further out then the stock wheels, since the monster wheels are 9 iches wide. not 7.5 like the stock wheels.
