Oil Leak...
ok so i have an 08 f150 4.2l with 18,000 miles on it and i noticed the other day that i have a small oil leak coming from the front part of my oil pan gasket seal area lol, basically im trying to figure out what could of caused it..i did install a superchips programmer...so im wondering if my engine was creating more compression and the stock exhaust couldn't push it out fast enough and therefore blew the gasket?? any imput would be great...Thanks!

A tuner will not create oil leaks.Your compression is determined buy the cyl head, pistons ring seal and if it has forced induction. The oil leak is either a bad seal, or pan gasket.Does your factory warranty still exist?? Even if the 3yr 36,000 miles is gone the 08's have I think it is a 5yr/60,000 mile powertrain warranty and could possibly be covered under that.Check with your dealer. My dealer has fixed every little thing I have reported to them and never an issue.

Agree with above, a chip will not cause an oil leak, could have been a faulty gasket, installed wrong from factory, or just plain out failed. Either way you have warranty take her in and have it replaced.
I had an oil pan gasket go out in the wifes 07 Grand Prix GT under warranty, no idea why it happened, but got it fixed with no questions asked
