gm and ford both recommend breaking in engines with dino then go to synthetic.. I put 6K on my truck then put in amsoil.. used one quart between the next oil change and havent since then... my silverado did the same thing... used one quart in the first synthetic oil change and then none thereafter... i had a mazda b2300 that also did the same thing... but now the wife has an hhr and we broke it in just like normal but when we changed it to amsoil it never used any at all..

my 08 4.6 XLT has about 2000 miles on it and the oil is lower on the dipstick then it was when I got it.
It is a little above the add mark now and when I got it it was about 1/2 way up on the dip stick
