Default Oil change this weekend

Hey guys I'm doing an oil change this weekend. I was thinking about switching to full synthetic. Castors is running a promotion buy one get one free on all synthetic oil. My truck has 66k miles is it a good idea to switch to synthetic or should I just keep my standard oil. I was thinking ford synthetic blend but heard its prob only 2 percent synthetic.

Go for it. You can switch to syn anytime you want. You can switch back anytime you want. You can mix the two half and half if you want. Its not going to hurt your truck.
I have 158k on my truck and I run synthetic often for its cleaning ability.

Where did you hear 2%? It's actually in the range of 30-60, depending on the batch and what base stocks are available from suppliers. The line is so blurred with Group III oils and with modern base stocks, the synthetic/conventional oil debate isn't a factor anymore. Switch as you please and what do what makes sense for your conditions and OCI.

The motorcraft semi-syn is actually pretty good oil fwiw. I may go full syn (Penz Ultra) on my next oil change too. We'll see. It probably won't mean one thing or the other when I use a standard 5k OCI.

A lot of people believe that synthetic blends are just a little synthetic. A money making scam just to squeez a couple dollars off of people. So stick to 5w20 And a motor craft filter? Ive heard stories about switching back and forth oils can screw stuff up.

I'd do it, you'll also get a few more miles between oil changes.
