Just changed mine yesterday. Went with 5w-20 Mobil1 with a Wix filter. Although it brought up a couple of questions for me. How much oil does it take? (Guy @ carquest said 6qts, ended up putting in 6 1/2) And, is there anyway to build the oil pressure before starting the motor after an oil change? The motor sounded horrible (cam phasers maybe?) for a few seconds since there was no pressure. Once the pressure came on though the noise went away and it seems to run smoother than before. (Just bought it and don't know what was being run before oil wise but they had a fram filter)

Did you fill the filter with oil before installing it?

Its nearly impossible to fill up the filter. On my 08 you have to put the filter on its side and it screws on at an angle. Most the oil would come out making a hell of a mess.

Lol. Ok I need to elaborate! I should have asked if he filled the filter and allowed the filter to absorb as much oil as possible, that's what I do and never have chatter on initial start up.

Never even heard of doing that. Maybe I'll try that next time.

Nothing against doing it that way, just can't really see any benefit.

Large amount of oil still has to pump through the filter.
