Default OEM radio aftremarket amp?

Well i have searched with no luck on finding a solution. Hope it is not because i did not use the search correctly.
Here is what I have. Factory radio with six disc changer. The back of the radio has two plugs, one is 24 pin and the other is square cannot remeber the pin count. I spliced into the factory harness and added an loc to run rca to an amp. I tripled checked the connections and wires i used and still have no signal to amp or door speakers. I benched tested amp all is fine. Someone told me although i do not have the factory sub woofer system there is still an amp in the truck were i need to attach the loc and not at the radio harness. If this is true where would this amp be? Or did i miss something wiring up an loc?

you will only have an amp if you had the audiophile stereo with the sub/amp under the back seat.

I also thought that would be the case. Thank you for the reply. Back to drawing board on this one.
