When you installed the backup camera did you run a new cable from the camera to the display or had the factory routed it?
I am adding an emblem camera to my '14 STX Supercab and did not purchase the long cable harness at the same time, now I'm having a hard time finding one.
My dealer parts guy implied that the cable was already run by the factory but I'm not finding it.
Do you have any advice?
Thanks

My truck is 2007 so it was not prewired for a camera. When I bought the camera emblem I ordered the wiring with it. I am not sure where you could get the camera wire?

Good Luck

Default Backup Camera Harness

Thanks, you guys, for posting all you have done through the last few years! It has been very helpful.
Well, I went to another dealer and the parts guy, my new hero, found 2 cables that he thought might help. One was the shorter harness that connected to the emblem camera and was long enough to be routed out of the tailgate. Now this is the same one that came with the camera and Ford emblem I order on the Internet.
The second harness was exactly what I needed! It was the rear light and power harness. The same as what came on the truck with the exception that this new harness had the 6 pin connector that was needed to match with the new camera harness connector!!! This harness connects to the main harness that is routed to the front of the truck. These harness connect conveniently at the rear of the truck.
So, today we'll see how easily everything matches up in the console/dash with the new Pioneer receiver and existing wiring. We found the wiring schematic at alldata.com
I let you know how we do today.
Thanks again for posting it really helps us new guys.

That's a beautiful job. I'm trying to decide exactly what I'm going to do, and this could be a good solution. My display on the factory stereo is starting to fade in and out intermittently, so now might be a good time to replace that with this Pioneer system. Was the stereo hookup easy?
Thanks

Only thing I worry about, is buying an aftermarket head, and losing my steering wheel controls, and the speed dependent volume.

I believe PAC makes an adapter to maintain steering wheel control. As for SDV, I think that's more a function of the head unit itself. Not sure if aftermarket units have that feature, but my guess would be 'yes'.
