odometer rollback?
So I just got the carfax for my.truck and it says odometer rollback found it went from 160000 to 70000 before it was sold. At auction that was 4 years ago and my truck is sitting at 140000 miles right now so my question is does my. Truck really have. Almost 300000 miles on it?

don't these trucks have some kind of 'black box' deal that will tell actual mileage?
I had a Neon that apparently had its cluster swapped at one point before I got it because the title said 89k but the odometer said 68k. When the lady at the dmv questioned it I told her that whoever made the last title added too many zeros and the mileage was supposed to be 8900 on the title.
I know clusters were prone to issues on those cars. It also had Tenessee plates and an Alabama title and I got it in NY.

digital readout yes it would be logged by the computers/ecm/bcm...older dials could be rolled, but illegal....
fried the ecm in a 99 caravan(low battery) replaced with a wrecker unit, and my milage stayed the same..

Well I talked to ford and they said they couldnt do any5hing to figure out the mileage and that the gauge cluster was probably replaced and thats why its a different reading

You have to be careful when buying anything that ever came from or was titled in Tennessee. Dealers in that state have a bad track record of rolling back odometers, make sure you do your homework on a car before you buy it if your title doesn't match you actual miles. Just because something is illegal doesn't mean it doesn't happen lol
