I also have the same problem, I installed the fuse and tried again with no success. (Fuse was missing prior to that) Checked for voltage coming from the supposed fuse location and couldn't get a volt reading.

I am working on an 04 F150. Fuse location is 110 or 111 i think on the bottom right. Cigarette lighter is also non-functional.

Any ideas? I havent checked the ground for the pcm yet, where is that located?

Thanks!

Unplug everything from the cig lighter and power outlet, then replace the fuse. I had this issue. It was a bad cell phone charger that had internally shorted and was blowing through fuses. Do NOT go to a higher-amp fuse.

Is the power outlet and the cig lighter on the same circuit? Power outlet is ac coming from the alternator I thought.

I didn't look at a wiring diagram for the power outlet on mine. I replaced the fuse once, plugged my cell charger into the cig lighter and it blew, replaced the fuse again, put the cell charger into the power outlet and the fuse blew once more. Charger went into the trash.

For the 2004 to 2008, yes, the power outlet/cigarette lighter and OBD-II are on the same circuit. I thought is was fuse 41

The cigarette lighter is also powered on that same circuit. If it falls out, you probably aren't pushing it in hard enough.

Actually found my answer on answer.com. Lurch, a ford mechanic knew about it all. If the truck is "late build" then the Fuse for the DATA Link is "110", swapped it out and all is good. Wouldn't stay in because it isn't an operating slot. hope this helps some people out there
