Default OBD II tach port ??

Ok,, who knows how to wire a Sun tach to the OBD II
connector, without burning the computer

2005 F150 STX

I know STX is a trim option, but what does it stand for ??
ie, LE = limited edition SE= special edition

I'll be following this too....I hope someone that knows this answer chimes in, as I too would like to add a tach to my STX. I considered the other "box" that plugs into the ODB-II connector, but it monitors much more than just the RPM's, and I really don't need all that info (plus it's $159.00).

Hope you get an answer soon. If you get the answer elswhere, please post here for my benifit!

Default OBD II tach port

Ford does have a tach box that wires into the crank sensor harness..
but I'd rather go into the OBD port if possible

The Scangauge II is well worth the $159. I didn't need a tach, but wanted to monitor tranny temps. Now I get to monitor much more with this great litle "box"

I agree with you 100%. If I had a need to monitor more, I'd certainly go that route. However, I only want the tach. Purchasing a tach will be less than $159.00.
