Default nuther dumb spark plug question

Well I have 71,000 on my 08 f150. I was thinking about changing the plugs, but with all the horror stories out there I was actually thinking about letting someone do it. I stopped at a shop tonight and they quoted me 165 including plugs. Now I'll probably buy my own plugs, but does this seem like a good price for it?

Man, if your gonna do it, i would pay the money for someone else to do it. That way its their fault if they break off in the head. But i dont know if thats a reasonable price or not.

Now the 165 includeing plugs,is that everything complete including labor??if total, plugs, and labor is 165,hell yes do it.Around here they charge almost 600 bucks.Just make sure you get everything in writeing that way if one were to break off they cant say well sir it will cost alittle more as you have it in writeing.

As far as I know it is complete. I'm wondering about that too, the whole 'we broke one off' crap. I'll probably go for it in about a week or two then.

$165 for everything out the door isn't a bad price at all. My Ford dealership here in Hawaii charges over $400 to do a plug change.

I thought Ford put on different heads in 08 to solve the "spark plug" issue? Am I correct?

Since the plugs are supposed to go 100,000 mile there is a problem.
the Plugs could sieze in the heads upon removal!

In a good shop if the plug won't come out the mech will stop with that plug and go to another. Once he knows which come out and which don't the shop will call the customer and explain the problem. now the customer must decide to go ahead and take the chance or not! It won't be the shops problem.

It is better to get the plugs out at 71,000 then to wait any longer. on my 2003 I pulled ,cleaned the threads and put anti sieze - at 60,000 with no problems

Now that I have an 08 I will do the same around 50,000 just in case!

There are step t avoid head damage but no gaurentee! Marvel mystery oil around the plug over night is something I would try! a good penetrating oil again over night.
