I had almost the same problem. Mis-fire codes only. It was clogged cats. Runs awesome now.

how would i bench test it?

I rigged up a reservoir (2 inch pipe with caps) that I could fill with fluid (gas) and pressurize with shop air. Then ran a clear hose to the injector. This provided a similation of pressurized fuel going to the injector. Then I used a 6 volt battery to actuate the injector solenoid. I used a glass jar with a hole in the lid for the injector. I could see the spray pattern into the jar.

Parts for rebuilding fuel injectors are available, screens, pintles, seals, via ebBay.

i went ahead and threw a new injector at it, i figured it was worth it to not have to take it apart again. but frustratingly enough, again its better but not fixed, is it possible that in the few weeks since i had the plugs changed that the injector was bad and it already fouled the plug?

Sure. It's also pretty easy to pull a plug and look at it.

It looks new but could still be bad. Try swapping it with the plug next to it and see if the problem follows.

I apoligize for taking so long to get back to you guys but i figured i should atleast close out the thread with an answer. i went ahead and swapped the plugs and the misfire followed it, i changed the one plug and it resolved the issue completely. i appreciate all the help, thankfully it ended up being a relatively painless repair other than the frustration. it would have been nice if the dealer would have been a little more cooperative and helped me out but i will hapily never go back to them as well.
