Default Not sure if this is as common as it sounds

Hey guys proud new owner of a f150 here. I recently bought used and am having the driveline clunk or kick problem it feels like when taking off from a stop and somewhere between 40-50 mph. After reading through a few posts on here I am almost sure that the slip yoke just needs to be greased and this will solve the problem however I don't want to do this myself and screw something up. Took it to the dealer and they (of course) tell me that I should get the full diagnostic check to ensure that's the problem. I'm thinking of rolling the dice and just telling them to grease the slip yoke to save myself from paying another hour of labor for a check I don't need. Is this too big of a gamble or is greasing the slip yoke as simple of a fix as it sounds? Thanks for the input guys excited to get some miles with my ford!

I had it done and have never had a problem since! It did the same thing as yours is.
The kit from the ford dealer is part number# 9L3Z4W602A. The hardest part is removing the driveshaft lol.

The kit basically includes a new boot, synthetic grease and new clamps btw.

Ok thanks! So did you do the kit yourself? I'm debating on whether I should I think I can just don't wanna mess something up. If removing the driveshaft is the hardest part I can't imagine it's too difficult then

Anyone ever tried drilling a hole and cutting threads to install a grease fitting?

The clunk between 40-50mph may actually be an ignition coil. I have the clunk when accelerating from a stop and (used to) have the clunk at 45-50 mph. Is your truck giving you a check engine light?
