Default Not sure about new stance on ATX MOJAVE RIMS

Hi guys Im new here and just started some basic mods to my 05 XLT. I did some research for a while on rims and decided on the black ATX MOJAVE TEFLON 17x8 on 285/70/17 firestone destination a/t. Truck is not leveled. I really like the look of this tire/rim combo. I thought i would like the wider wheels stick out look with the 4.5in backspacing however now im not sure. What im asking is will fender flares and a level kit bring the tires sticking out look in a little bit. I would appreciate any suggestions or opinions. Please post some pics if you have the tires out look with or without flares. Thanks!!

Leveling kit will make it look better... But honestly I think it's the all terrain that's killing it... A nice meaty mud grip with aggressive shoulder tread and sidewalls would set it off real nice

Stock fender flares won't cover as far as your tires are sticking out.

i agree with a nice mud tire on those rims and it would 100x better. dont get me wrong, it looks great now but mud tires just make it look so much more agressive. i have tires that stick out a bit but not the best pics of it. i dont like bushwacker flares on our trucks. it doesnt follow our body lines around the fener wells very well and how it just ends at the front bumper looks hideous IMO. heres the pics of mine tho:

I would level it, put a nice set of mud grips on it, and if you REALLY want fender flares...get a set off of an FX4 and paint them black to match your truck. That'd look pretty bad *** in my opinion

I do love the look of the aggressive mud tire but 98% of my driving is on pavement to and from work. And i do really like the stock lines of the truck. I guess if I really want to get closer to a stock wheels in look i have to go back to a rim that has 5.5in backspacing. Any problem with running that 285/70/17 on a 17in rim with 5.5in backspacing? Thanks for the help and quick responses guys!
