Default Head Unit Question

Replacing my aftermarket headunit that stopped working and want to go back to oem. My 05 Fx4 did not have the audiophile system stock. Will an audiophile oem stereo work? This is what I'm looking at. I also have aftermarket door speakers with 2 10" subs and a 1500w amp.

Thanks

May I inquire as to why you would spend that much money on the factory unit when you can buy an aftermarket double-din from Crutchfield that will be better? Take it from someone who ordered their truck with the audiophile and has since replaced everything with aftermarket products that produce much better sound quality.

I loved my stock stereo, it just wouldn't work with my subs. And I'd much rather spend $240 than $600+ on a pioneer or alpine unit.

From what I have seen it should work but I haven't payed to much attention to putting an audiophile back in a truck..

And I'm with texasrb.

I got my double din JVC unit from crutchfeild for 299, very very happy with it.

I posted a thread about it with my reviews but got no responses. You can search for it if you would like.

That's the one I have. I got a bad unit . Everytime I hit a bump in the road it shuts off. I've checked every connection, took it out and put it back in. It never did it until I slapped the top of the unit and it shut off consistently.

Thanks
1. Audiophile head units are internally crossed over, without subs it will sound very tinny
2. I don't have the Edge wiring diagrams, but there are at least two setups of the vehicle connections to the Heads, one is canbus (like the Mustang) and the other is standard circuits (like our trucks). I would recommend confirming which it is first.
3. I would try to pick one up on the for sale/wanted section here. I'm sure plenty of the guys who have replaced theirs would almost give the old one away.

Just noticed you have subs, you can make a reverse harness for an audiophile unit and get the sub output. You'll need Metra 71-5520-1 to make it.

Really?

No warranty on it?

Thanks Gator! As long as I've been on this forum you have an answer to everything

It's been over a year, warranty is gone.
