Default Noisy Injectors?

I made a recording of my engine the other day and when I went to listen to it, it didn't quite sound like a previous one.

I am chalking that up to the fact that my GoPro mic in the case is absolutely horrendous, and that this recording was with a external stereo mic.

Anyway, does this sound like noisy injectors or could it be cams?

The truck is my 06 5.4L XLT.

Hmm, maybe it was just me. I thought I was hearing a quick ticking sound.

I hear injectors. Perfectly normal sounding 5.4 to me. The injectors are more of a tick tick and the phasers sound more like a diesel engine.

Yeah, these motors can be noisy. I agree here, sounds like a 5.4 As long as you don't have excessive ticking, clacking, slapping, or "dieseling", you should be fine.

If you think you're hearing an audible tick, maybe stick your head down by the wheel wells

Doesn't sound like a phaser or lash adjuster noise. You will know a phaser, chain slap or broken valve train noise when you hear it.
