Default Noise Up Front

When driving down the road sometimes I hear this grinding noise that sounds like it is coming from the front wheels. It has only done this noise about 5 times in the past month, and yesterday it was the worst. It was 3 times in about 30 minutes. The noise will only go away when I completely stop.

Would this be the noise that some people get when they have put their leveling kit on? Mine has been on my truck for the past 10K miles or so, and only in the last 1K miles has this started happening.

Had the same problem, it's a vacuum problem on your right front wheel hub and actuator. The more you drive it the more damage it does. It's an easy fix if you don't do too much damage to the hub. I had to replace the hub, actuator, and switch.

ok so think ive narrowed it down a little for them to fix whatever problem it is. the noise will only happen when it is in 2wd. if the truck is engaged in 4wd it doesnt make the noise at all.

Sounds like a bad hub.

The leveling kit shouldn't have any affect on it. It is the vacuum switch.

The solonoid is located on the passenger side firewall to the left of the ecm, behind the battery, it has two vacuum hoses and a electrical plug. It fails when water gets into it.
