Default Noise from torque converter area

I have a 2006 Super Crew with 109000 miles, all of a sudden when the trany is placed in gear I get a distinct constant metal rubbing sound with an occasional sound of of metal pieces getting banged around. When placed in park or neutral the sound goes away, I have the truck on my lift and near as I can tell the noise is coming from the converter area, but sounds like its on the outside of the converter not a muffled internal sound. The noise is so clear I expect to see the converter rubbing on a piece of metal, but its tight and clean looking and I do not see any cracks in the flex plate but did note that the converter and ring gear do not run very true. Any thoughts would be appreciated, thx in advance.
