Hi Everyone, I tried searching for this topic but could not locate a thread that describes the noise that I'm hearing.

I was recently driving and hit a pothole going about 40mph around a curve. It was a jarring blow, shook the entire truck. Soon after, I started hearing an intermittent noise coming from the rear half of the truck, almost like metal scraping on the pavement. It comes and goes only while accelerating. Does not coincide with going over bumps or while coasting or turning.

Any thoughts???

In case it matters, its a 2004 Lariat Screw 5.4 with a 2" level and 285/70/18 Terra Grapplers. Also recently had a Magnaflow 12256 muffler installed.

In the cab, it actually sounds like its coming from the engine or tranny area.

I would crawl under and look for something broken. I was kinda did the same thing and didnt know what the noise was. Crawled under and one of my leafs snapped right by the U bolt.

Check the calipers

Regulator

any vibration when braking, steering? What about when going fast and slowing down or going around sharp curves? Does anything feel different?

That might helps us narrow down where this is coming from, it could be something really simply....
