Default No start after edge

So I quick shut the ignition off and it kept turning over for a couple seconds enough that I was able to jump out of the truck to run for a wrench to unhook the battery. So I called edge again they sent me a new file so they can read my programmer to see what's wrong. Now they are reviewing the file and will get back to me when they know something. 🙏
Yup your edge is likely toast..
I Had an issue where the edge basically ate my stock calibration. So edge had to send me a new edge with a new stock calibration.

You could try to repair the device, then have them upload a new stock calibration and try again. But the truck starting on its own is just too weird.. Either way I would run the repair sequence before you upload a new file. Uploading the file will wipe the memory. If it happens again, get a new edge for sure..
Make sure your cig lighter fuse is perfect, and keep all accessories off and doors closed on the next try.
Did you see engine fail safe mode flash at you in on the message center?
This is another big reason why I'm happy I'm tuning with sct now. The edge CS and CTS units are very finicky and frankly not very robust.. I went through 3 edge CS units with black screens, bad capacitors and beeping before I finally got a good one.. Now I just use it as a gauge monitor..

I did not see engine fail safe mode flash on the screen but the truck should be fixed by the end of this week with the help of the 1300 dollar new PCM. Now I don't know what to do with my edge cs I asked edge and they said no it's good it's all your truck but I don't want to sell it to someone and them go through the same thing I just did. I don't need it cause I'm planning on a 6.7 in my very near future. That was the whole reason of removing it.

So did the new PCM just plug right in and work without the edge stock tune reloaded?

I imagine that the dealership programs the ECM/PCM before it is installed, if it is not already at time of arrival to the dealership.

Yeah they had to order a new PCM from Ford direct and it was already programmed to my vin. There was an hour of labor total and the rest was all PCM. $1268

Ok.. So one could argue that the edge is still going to eat the next PCM it touches. I didn't know if you bought a used PCM or not, and we're relying on edge to provide you with stock tune..
Glad it worked out either way you.. Sucks about the cost tho..
