Is Plasti dip the best option for me?

I have an 04-08 Oxford white F150 2006 and I am wanting to get rid of the chrome bumper both front and back, I only power wash my truck when I wash it, so I do not want it to come off each time i wash my truck, but I do not want a 100% permanent thing if i do not like it.

So what i want is pictures of your trucks with white bumpers and/or black bumpers.

If you power wash your truck with plasti-crap painted bumpers you will have chrome bumpers again. If you don't like chrome then just get some real paint and do it right.

He wants to try the appearance with a temporary finish instead of something permanent just in case he doesn't like the look. Doesn't matter what your belief in Plasti-dip is PNW. The product is what it is and never was intended to be a replacement or alternative to a catalyzed refinish product. Chill out.

Power washing your truck will NOT peal the plasti dip. I've had by bumpers and wheels done for over a year and done dozens of power washes and gone through multiple drive through washes, it will not come off. So go for it. Its cheap and if you don't like it, take it off. Just make sure to put it on nice and heavy. If your too thin, it will be a pain to peel.

And to all the people hating on plasti dip and saying if you can't do it right, then don't do it at all. Not all of us have to money flowing out of our a** to throw away, so we do what we can in the mean time. And like the OP says, he wants to see how it looks, and plasti dip is perfect for that.

You don't need $$ coming out of your behind. Just patience and save money so you can get what you want the first time. I have 3 kids, you think I have a lot of disposable income to waste?

You are correct, p-dip is meant to be a temp paint. Stick it on and if you like it peel it and do it right with perm paint. However, how hard is it to google trucks with white or black bumpers? When you see it you'll either like it better than chrome or not. After seeing them, If you still don't know if you like it then modifying a truck isn't for you or you need to get a pair of *****.

If I (or others) can't have an opposing opinion on some things then you better get me banned or eliminate the internet all together. I will always represent quality and doing things right the first time.

LOL I've had my chrome rims plasti"crap" for almost a year now... been through many automatic car washes and it's not peeling or coming off. Nothing wrong with it and it's not permanent.

Yeah everyone has their opinion.. but it no longer called an opinion when they start to negatively voice that opinion.

i used plasti dip on my old 98 xlt f150. and it never came off or anything and the best part about it. you dont have to prep the surface. however i havent been told and reccomended tht if you prep it you will get way better results. i want to plasti-dip my rims on my 07 lariat factory rims
