Upgraded halogen bulbs are a good option for more output from the stock housings. I can't comment on those halogen bulbs with no experience with them.

Couldn't help but to shake my head at this post. Tinted headlights are one of the stupidest mods, and you're talking about tinting your headlights after doing a retrofit?? Yikes. Buy a set of black housing headlights or crack yours open and paint them yourself.

Oh and this should be common sense but I feel it's necessary to be said here.. don't paint the reflector bowl.

To you they maybe stupid I like the look as stated I am new to the headlight scene I didn't start this post to hear everyone's opinions on if they're stupid or not but instead to see if there was another solution to this without scrapping these lights I thought this forum was to get help and ideas not to ridicule what others have done. I have read mixed reviews on the whole HID thing some say the tint will knock down the glare however I respect other drivers enough to not want to blind anyone. I know how that feels especially in a little car and a truck pulls up behind you with HIDs right in the rear view mirror.

I like the look of tinted lights too. But for functionality it's stupid.

HIDs in reflector housings is a terrible idea. You could buy a set of cheap eBay headlights with projectors and toss some HIDs in those. They're headlight beam isn't the greatest but at least you have the cutoff so you're not blinding everyone in front of you.

I'll show you what I mean.
The first picture is of my eBay projectors with 8000k HIDs. Second is of the morimoto retroquik system in my eBay headlights.
third is of a true retrofit, and fourth is just a picture of my retrofit to give you an idea of what yours could look like.

I am looking into doing the retrofit someone said the H1 would be easiest can I still use the 9008 or H13 xenon bulbs with this? I want to attempt this on my own any advice would be greatly appreciated

You'd have to buy new H1 bulbs to put in the projectors. Mini H1s are the easiest because they're the smallest next to the matchbox and the install is about as simple as it gets.

I found a set of projectors that will complement my new taillights perfectly but the guy said the bulb is a 9006 with an h1 as the hi beam I have an h13 single beam hid kit already will this work?

You could either bake open the headlight and properly reseal it with butyl tape or you could just remove the headlight and let it try, then put a bead of silicon around where the lens meets the black housing to give it a proper seal.
