Default My new 05 xl

Well i finally traded my ranger in last night. I got a 2005 F150 XL, 102k miles, standard cab, 8ft bed, V6, auto. Ford's famous gray interior lol. I am very impressed with how this truck rides and handles. Deffinetly better than my ranger, but suprisingly better than my 99 f150. Very quiet I might add too. It was a work truck locally, and showed it when I test drove it with the interior being a mess, and dirt on everything. But the dealer cleaned it up good.

I attached a few pics, I'll try to get better ones tomorrow before the next storm rolls in.

By chance, Did Ford still have the issue with the 4.2L having leaky plenum gaskets and bad isolator bolts by the 05 model year? I had to replace all of that on my sisters 03 f150 with the 4.2L, but don't know if it was still an issue by 05, or throughout the entire existance of the 4.2L.

I know the 3.8L was recalled for that and the 4.2L wasnt. Just curious. Mine isnt leaking, or check engine light on.

Nice truck man!I have and 07 reg cab short bed, have had it for a year traded up from a 96 f150. I love the way this truck drives! very comfortable! The interior is great as it is low maintenance, I live on the Wa. coast and there is SAND here, not a problem with rubber mats . I havent heard of any problems with the 4.2 outside of sucking up the occasional V8! Mine has 45000 on the clock I have larger wheels and a topper, installed cruise control (cheap. easy), it just runs like a champ, wouldnt trade it for the world. Thing I love about XLs...they are a blank canvas to make exactly how you want. Again, NICE TRUCK!

Thanks guys! Its been 1 year and 2 weeks since I last owned an f150.(99 5.4) So its been a long year lol.

"Thing I love about XLs...they are a blank canvas to make exactly how you want." Couldn't agree more Rawclam! I was thinking down the road to put some crome bumpers and grille on it. Maybe some mirrors. Dont know yet.. First things first, I think its going to need tune up, but thats nothing hard.
