Default newbie with a quickie

hey guys. im new here. i just put a deposit on a ford f150 lariat with a 5.4 triton.with 48000 miles. my ouestion is should i be concerned about this spark plug issue? an answer asap would be great. thanks guys.

It really depends on the year. If it's an 07+ than you have no worries. If it's 04-06 and you're getting it from a dealer I would make them change the plugs before you took delivery.

You snuck the 07 in while I was typing....

they plug issue was resolved in 2008, so i would change the plugs right now if you bought it, just to be safe.

Supposedly the heads/plugs were redesigned in 10-07. If the truck has a build date after 10-07 you are good. In this case Atom is mostly right but there are a couple of 07's where this is not an issue.

I wouldn't care what year it was, i would change the plugs every 50k or less

Ya ill talk to the saleman tomorrow, it was a toss up between a dodge and this ford. Ive owned a dodge in the past, nothing but issues with it, it was bought new. At 16000 miles the tranny crapped out. At 16500 the front wheel bearings crapped out. The bearing they wouldnt cover under warrenty, the tranny they did. After i became loud in front of other customers. Dont get me wrong im not loyal to any one brand. Im just looking for a trouble free truck. Again thanks alot for all the quick replies.

No one brand is trouble free, my 07 has been nothing but good to me, zero issues whatsoever. now some guys hate there trucks, just luck of the draw.
