Default Newbie Question

Hey guys great forum.

i bought my truck back in 2004 and i have not used it in 3 years after i bought my 08 super duty in 2007. now i am tired of payments and with this Economy i am just going to give my super duty back.

My question is how hard is it to convert my f150 into a 4x4.

You can't just "give" it back. You'll more than likely be liable for the difference in what you owe and what the sale brings the note holder. Why not sell the truck that hasn't been used in 3 years? Converting to 4x4 is generally more trouble than it's worth.

you can give it back, so to speak but you will still be responsible for the difference, might as well try to sell it outright.

converting a newer truck to 4x4 is no easy task, it can be done, i have seen solid axled 04+ f150's but not many. better have around 10grand to spend if you do it yourself, if you have a shop do it, 20grand easy

not really, you need a diff frame, transmission, transfer case, computer, driveshaft, i could go on and on

03 mustang is a 7 year old car already

it takes way way too much work to make a newer 2wd truck 4x4, unless you do a solid axle and run a divorced transfer case, still tons and tons of work and trial fitting.

just sell your truck and buy a 4x4

i am pretty sure 4x4 and 2wd have different frames, but not 100%

It would be cheaper to trade up to a 4x4.

And an 03 mustang for 20K??? You may have much more into it, but I can see why your having trouble selling it. That should convince you that you'll never get back what you have into a vehicle; you'd spend a bunch converting a 2wd to a 4x4, and be in the same boat as your mustang.
