Hey guys, first time on the forum. I have a 2006 F150 XLT 2wd supercrew with 3.55 gears and a 4.6L Triton with 35,000 Miles. When i bought the truck new back in '06 it came with 255/65/17 Continental tires. These tires have been crappy since day one. The tread started falling apart and wearing down quickly a year ago, and no i dont drive crazy or do burnouts and stuff like that, haha. Im looking at getting some new tires in a couple of weeks and im looking at the Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 265/70/17's. They have more tread and will fill a little more of the empty fender wells i have now. Has anyone ever used a leveling kit on a 2wd truck like mine? I would like to have about a 2in raise ontop of the bigger tires i will be putting on. I dont do much offroading but when i go down in the field at the farm its pretty easy to high center on the humps inbetween terraces. If i was to use a 2-2.5in disc leveling kit on the front under the springs would i have to put blocks in the back at the leap springs?

There are guys on this site with leveling kits in 2wd's. They install exactly the same way... "EASY". The cool thing about a 2wd leveling kit is that you don't have front CV joint angles to worry about.

The 2" kit would probably put you dead flat, or maybe a touch high in the front. You'd have to measure to the top of the wheel lip and see. I don't know what the height difference is between the 2 or 4wd.

I think if you did a 2.5, a rear block would be in order. But, that's super simple to do too.

Autospring has the front and rear kit for your truck.

I would suggest doing both, unless your looking for that flat look but I have the 2wd and a 2.5 in the front now if I load my ATV in the bed the fronts all the way in the air...lol If you dont have anything in the bed it looks nice.

I know that the blocks in the leaf springs at the back would be simple to do, but is there any extra equipement needed to put in the spacers up front? Dont the front spacers (levelers) go under the coil spring?

Some kits do but I would suggest these....

They go on top and wont mess up your handling.

that link is for the 2" ones but just look around there all over the place.

Mess up handling? Will any leveling kit effect handling? I never thought of that. I dont want to create any problems down the road.

Some of the kits use rubber or urethane pads that squich the spring... there for harder ride... The other kits like the one i listed sits on top of the strut... 100 times easier to install.

The kits that install above the spring, (without disassembling the coil-over) do not change your spring rate, and therefore do not change you ride. Theoretically, anytime you add height and change your center of gravity, you will affect handling, HOWEVER, I did not notice any real difference att all with the 2" Autospring kit.

I havent had a chance yet to measure the difference in heigth of the front and rear of my truck. So i dont know if the difference is 2 or 2.5 inches. So do the 4wd f150's come stock with a block under the leaf springs for extra heigth?
