NEWB checking in with question about truck...
Well I puchased my first truck a 2007 F150 FX4 5.4 V8 SuperCrew with only 17,500 on the odometer. I have been lurking around reading and learning as much as possible before joining and posting but have not been able to find a complete answer to what I am wondering about so now i'm gonna ask lol.
The door code for my axle ratio is B6 (which is 3.73LS from what I can gather) and I was wondering what your RPM is at 70 MPH? Mine sits almost right at 2000 but that just seems low to me (First truck so go easy on me I know its a dumb question LOL) and I was wondering if that is where it should be. oh BTW I have the stock BFG's 275/65/18's.

Your transmission has an overdrive (OD button at the end of the column shift, or on your console next to the shifter). If for some reason you want higher revs at cruising, disable the overdrive; you'll see the revs jump up to 2500 or so.
Your low RPM is normal. Fords help to get you better mileage. Just use the OD as it was intended; turn it off when towing heavy trailers, especially on steep upgrades.
Read the owners manual, as it describes the RPM range with and without overdrive, and when to/not to use it.
Don't have an owners manual (important piece of information)? Go here and download one for free:
