Default New wheels and tire pressure sensors????

What do you guys do when you get new wheels do you transfer the sensors or get new ones or run them without, If you run them without what do you do to keep the tire pressure light off?

I believe you should be able to get them reprogrammed to work with new wheels. Try asking your mechanic if it's something they do if you don't know how to do it yourself.

The garage told me that it has the Sensor connected to a band and would have to get new sensor and band for new wheels...is this true or not?

You're gonna need 4 band sensors. from the dealer they can be pretty costly, But I think OEM sensors would be a better choice.

I've put new wheels on my 08 twice this year. Never bought new sensors. You use your old sensors but will need new band kits. They can be had for less than $50 on ebay and Amazon.
Edit: Also, mine did not need to be reprogrammed. In both cases, I left the tire shop with a TPMS light on the dash. After about 30 seconds of driving, the light went out.

you can re-use the sensors and cradle's that they are in.. to remove from your oem wheel the factory band needs to be cut and can not be re-used .. like stated you will need a new set of bands.. $60 for all 4 ... all they are .. are big hose clamps .. position the sensors @ 6 o'clock on the wheel.

Half true. Yes they are on bands (which are not reuseable) but you don't need new sensors.
And to clarify a bit of what techrep said, position the sensors at a 6 o'clock position from the stem.

I used oro-tek universal valve stem sensors with my 07 and a MAC TPMS tool.
