New truck..hub centric question
Any help would be super on this guys.
I bought this truck last week with aftermarket rims and tires. I had them rotated and balanced since it would vibrate at 60mph. The shop mentioned I needed the hub centric ring to make the rim rest on the factory hub.
I went to a local rim shop and they stated that since the previous owner has a flat ~1/2" spacer behind the rim that a hub ring won't work with the spacer.Something about the lip of the hub ring will keep the spacer from sitting flush. They said if there wasn't a spacer that the hub ring WOULD work. He said the spacer was probably since the rims /tires may have rubbed the new lift kit.
I still have vibration and would like the rims to rest on the hub instead of the lugs. Can anyone help with this? I don't see why the plastic hub ring won't work even with the spacer behind the rims.

They are correct. A hub ring is useless when there is a spacer involved. What it sounds like you need is to try and find a hub centric spacer that will work with you aftermarket wheels.

If the spacer is absolutly necessary, you need a hubcentric spacer. If you can get away without the spacer, it be best. Just taking the spacer out would most likely get rid of that viberation on its own.

Any idea where to find a very small hub centric spacer? All I am seeing is 1.5" and above. I need to measure the spacer but it looked around 1/2" thick.

Its all good I just ordered new wheels instead! lol I ended up finding a smoking deal on the XD Diesels in black/machined finish for $765 shipped. Only 1 more set left in the country now! These should give me more room on the backside so I won't need a spacer anymore. Will need to trim some possibly though.

Buy new wheels and be done with it. Sounds like your wheels aren't meant for the truck anyways. Buy some that have a proper offset and are hub centric to begin with so that you don't even need hub rings. Our trucks are the only 6x135 bolt pattern vehicle out there so most wheels should be hub centric unless they are universal fit with an extra bolt pattern.
